Missions

Whitneyville Missionary Group

Our Missionary Group began because of our wish to fill the needs of others.  Congregational giving to this group is redirected to individuals needing assistance as well as organizations that align with the church’s principles.

The Bible provides numerous verses with instructions to help those in need.  A few examples are:

Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.  – Philippians 2:4

Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.  – Galatians 6:2

I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.  – Acts 20:35

But whoso hath this world’s good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?  – 1 John 3:17

Organizations we support

    • Servant’s Center:  A nonprofit non-denominational faith-based organization that provides high quality, relationship-based street outreach and ongoing support services to mentally ill poor people experiencing homelessness in the Grand Rapids, Michigan, area.  They work to be ambassadors for Jesus Christ as they carry out the Biblical imperative to help to the poor. For going on 40 years, they’ve helped thousands of highly vulnerable people go from living on the streets to living in stable healthy situations for good.
    • H.U.G.S. Ranch:  A faith-based ministry that encourages mental, emotional, physical, and social healing to hurting children and donated, unwanted, or rescued equines by allowing them to share in Hope, Understanding, Guidance and Support in a no-cost, safe, Christian environment.
    • Alpha Prison Ministries:  Evangelizes and disciples men who happen to be prisoners and former inmates through three areas of ministry:  In-prison Bible study and discipleship training, Alpha House transitional housing for parolees, and Christian Mentoring for Alpha House residents
    • Grace’s Table:  Working to remove barriers to the resources teen moms need by walking alongside them from isolation to community and support them as they reach their full potential.  Relationships are built through Bible Study,  mentorship, counseling, life skills, and empowerment to secure stable housing.
    • Tim & Kristy Holliday:  Serves with Mission to the World and Isaiah 55 Ministries at the U.S./Mexico border where they work to spread the gospel through evangelism, church planting, and community development ministries. They use their gifts to serve those in need, to see God’s kingdom expand along the border, and to see His Church grow.  Tim grew up in Caledonia, MI.
    • Moore Family:  Serving in China to share the gospel to an unreached nation through immersing themselves into the culture, language and community in which they serve.
    • Child Fund International:  A global community of people who care about children and take action to help them live at their fullest potential at every stage of their lives.  We can’t afford to lose a single child to hunger, violence, disease or neglect.  When children grow up healthy, educated and safe, everyone wins.
